Our mission is to build a trusted local marketplace that helps communities reuse more, waste less and keep good things local.

We want Car Boot Hub to provide a practical alternative to throwing usable items away. Something that is no longer needed in one home, school, workshop or organisation could be precisely what somebody else nearby is looking for.

Why Car Boot Hub was created

Too many useful belongings are discarded simply because their owners cannot easily find somebody who needs them.

Furniture, tools, books, clothing, toys, computers, sports equipment, stationery and other valuable resources regularly end up in skips or waste facilities despite remaining usable.

This happens in homes, but it also happens within schools, colleges, businesses and community organisations. Equipment may be replaced, a room may be refurbished or a storage area may need to be cleared quickly. Without a simple local way to redistribute those items, disposal can seem like the only practical option.

Car Boot Hub was created to offer another choice. Before something reusable is thrown away, we want to give somebody nearby an opportunity to buy it, swap for it or collect it for free.
